Terms of Service
Last updated: 27 May 2026
These Terms govern your use of Cubedoku, a 3D Sudoku game operated by Cubedoku (individual operator, legal@cubedoku.com). By using the game you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, the only thing you should do is close the tab.
1. The service
Cubedoku is a browser-based 3D Sudoku game with two tiers:
- Free tier — fully playable, supported by light display ads served by Google AdSense. No paywall on game content.
- Cubedoku Pro — an optional paid subscription that removes ads and unlocks Expert difficulty across all modes. Sold through Paddle (our merchant of record, see §3).
The game is delivered as-is. We are still in active development; features may appear, change, or disappear without notice. We publish material game-rules changes (e.g. a new mode, a scoring rework) on the home page; we will not retroactively gate something free behind the paywall.
2. Your account
You can play Cubedoku anonymously. If you sign in with Google, you are responsible for the security of your Google account. Do not share access to it. If we have reason to believe an account is compromised, we may suspend it temporarily to protect you and the leaderboard.
3. Cubedoku Pro subscription
Cubedoku Pro is sold through Paddle, who acts as our merchant of record. This means Paddle (not Cubedoku) is your contractual counterparty for the payment, issues the invoice, and remits VAT or sales tax in your country on our behalf. By subscribing you also agree to Paddle's checkout buyer terms.
Price and billing. Cubedoku Pro is a recurring monthly subscription at $1.99/month (or the local-currency equivalent shown at checkout, inclusive of any applicable tax). The price you see at checkout is the price you pay; Paddle handles the currency and tax math.
Auto-renewal. The subscription renews automatically every month on the same calendar day as your initial purchase, charged to the payment method you provided to Paddle, until you cancel. You can cancel at any time and your Pro features stay active until the end of the period you have already paid for; you will not be charged again after cancellation.
How to cancel. Two equivalent paths:
- In-app— sign in, open Settings → Account → Manage subscription. This opens the Paddle self-service portal where you can cancel, update your card, or download invoices.
- Direct via Paddle — open the email receipt from Paddle (sender:
help@paddle.com) and follow the self-service link in it.
Refunds. Full 14-day money-back guarantee on every payment (initial purchase and each renewal). After 14 days, the current billing period is non-refundable but you can cancel future renewals at any time. See the full Refund Policy for details and processing times.
Price changes. Existing subscribers keep their current price for as long as their subscription is active and unbroken. If we raise the price for new subscribers, we will email existing subscribers at least 30 days in advance before any change applies to them; you can cancel before the change takes effect.
What Pro unlocks. An ad-free experience across the free tier, plus access to Expert difficulty in every mode. We may add more Pro perks over time; we will not move existing free features behind the paywall.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use automated tools, bots, scripts, or external solvers to submit puzzle times. Daily Challenge results are honor-system; we may remove submissions that look automated or that beat established solver records.
- Pick a nickname that is obscene, harassing, impersonates a real person, or contains slurs. A profanity filter runs on claim; if it rejects your nickname, pick a different one. We may rename nicknames that get past the filter.
- Probe, scrape, or stress-test the service beyond normal play. The API is for the game; please don't build a parallel client unless you ask first.
- Use Cubedoku to violate any law that applies to you, or to harm other players.
- Initiate a payment chargeback for a Cubedoku Pro charge without first requesting a refund through Paddle or by email. We always refund inside the 14-day window — there is no reason to escalate first. See Refund Policy §6 for context.
5. Leaderboard content
When you upload a Daily Challenge result, your nickname, country, and solve time become publicly visible on the Hall of Fame. By uploading you grant us permission to display this on the leaderboard. You can delete just your leaderboard records (keeping your account) or delete your account entirely at any time via Settings → Account.
6. Intellectual property
The Cubedoku name, the cube logo, the game logic for our original modes (The Cube, The Avalanche, The Blitz, Skyscraper), and the user-interface design are © 2026 Cubedoku. You may not redistribute them or build a clone branded as “Cubedoku.” You are welcome to share screenshots, recordings, and your own solve times for personal and community purposes.
The classic Sudoku rule itself is not anyone's property. Cubedoku does not claim it.
7. No warranty
Cubedoku is provided as-is, with all faults. We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure against every attack. We do not warrant that your local progress, your leaderboard time, or your account data will always be preserved (we try, but disks fail and bugs ship). To the maximum extent permitted by your local law, we disclaim all implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by your local law, our total liability to you for anything related to Cubedoku is limited to the amount you have paid us in the last 12 months. For the free tier that is €0. For Pro subscribers that is whatever Paddle has actually charged you for Cubedoku Pro in the last 12 months. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages. This limitation does not attempt to exclude liability that cannot legally be excluded (e.g., fraud, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or consumer-protection rights you have under EU law).
9. Termination
You can stop using Cubedoku at any time. You can delete your account at any time (Settings → Account → Delete account). We may suspend or terminate accounts that materially violate these Terms (e.g. cheating, abusive nicknames after a rename, attacks on the service, fraudulent chargebacks); we will tell you why if we do. If we terminate an active Pro subscription for your material breach, we will not refund the remainder of the current period; if we terminate without your fault (e.g. we shut the service down), we will refund the unused portion.
10. Governing law and disputes
Where you live determines what consumer-protection laws apply to you, and we will not try to override those. For disputes that are not covered by mandatory local consumer law, the laws of the Netherlands apply, and the competent courts of the Netherlands have jurisdiction. EU consumers can also use the European Commission's online dispute resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr. Subscription disputes specifically may also be raised directly with Paddle as the merchant of record.
11. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. If the update materially changes your rights or obligations (in particular: price, billing terms, cancellation terms), we will email signed-in users at least 14 days in advance and show a banner on the home page. Continued use after the effective date counts as acceptance. If you don't accept, you can cancel your subscription and/or delete your account before the date.
12. Contact
Questions about these Terms: legal@cubedoku.com. Subscription and billing questions can also go straight to help@paddle.com as Paddle is the merchant of record.
